Philip J. Blyskal
Edward Hawley

Philip
J. Blyskal has over twenty five years of experience in plastic injection
molding with an emphasis on tooling, plastic materials, and processing. He
received a BS in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Philip’s work experience in injection molding spans from direct involvement on
the molding floor through general management of a custom molding facility,
including advanced tool and product engineering. While at UFE in Stillwater,
Minnesota in the early 80’s, he held positions of “Tooling Operations
Manager” and “Engineering Development Manager”.
In 1986
Philip joined i-STAT in Princeton, New Jersey as part of a research and
development team involved in the production of a hand held clinical analysis
device. While at i-STAT he was instrumental in the design and manufacture of the
device and especially the related disposable cartridges, leading to being named
a co-inventor on various patents.
In July
of 1991 PreSource Technologies, Inc. was incorporated as a consulting firm
specializing in engineering related to the injection molding of thermoplastics.
Since this time Philip has provided a broad range of engineering skills to
OEM’s, (original equipment manufacturers), injection molding companies, and
development companies. He has presented several papers at the Society of
Plastics Engineer’s annual technical conferences on the use of “Design of
Experiment”, (DOE), techniques in injection molding.
PreSource
Technologies was expanded in the 1996 to provide clients with a product design
and development capability. Philip’s experience with the design and
manufacture of plastic components will now be directed to this endeavor as well
as general consulting activities.

As the manager of a prototype laboratory, Ed
Hawley has over twenty years experience in tooling, model making, mold
design and fabrication, plastic fabrication, injection mold set-up and
trouble-shooting prototype design. He
is proficient in the use of all machine tools including the programming and
operation of CNC equipment.
Prior to joining PreSource Technologies, Inc. Ed
headed up a team for PA Consulting Group in their prototyping labs.
His experience at PA covered the fabricating of 3D development models to
the interaction with Marketing and Product Development personnel in order to
develop new concepts. Ed
managed a staff involved in product development projects for a myriad of
industries including medical (devices and surgical instruments), aerospace,
automotive, and pharmaceutical, among others.
His skills then as now are integrating the use of CNC
machining, prototype plastic injection molding, rapid prototyping services (i.e.
SLA) to develop fully functional, production quality prototypes suitable for
Marketing development and test purposes. In
addition to his fabricating skills, Ed has a great understanding of mechanical
design that allows him to carry out real time debugging of prototype assemblies.
